SCORPIO: the shroud

“The most common descriptions of this hypnotically transfixing water sign use vague and misleading terms like ‘passionate’, ‘deep’, and ‘secretive’. Scorpios are all of those things and more. My job is to define what it is they are passionate about, how they are so deep, and why they keep so many damn things to themselves. I want to purge Scorpio of all preceding whispers, and disinfect its real image to show both natives and non-natives alike a genuine and honest rendering of the zodiac’s most infamously famous water sign…”

“Scorpio is, an emotional and psychological miner who digs deep to penetrate and uncover what most other signs stash in the subconscious. And like Hades, most Scorpios aspire to be impartial and reflexive when dealing with the horrors of the unseen and the inevitabilities of life, including death. They face it and judge it, and try to remain unaffected. But their watery emotions prevent them from doing so.”

“…Scorps can appreciate the wholesomeness of certain subjects or deeds, and let them be as they are. Or they can taint them and twist them into something corrupt, immoral and wicked. Light magic or black magic; virtue or vice – these are the inescapable choices Scorpios must decide between.”

These are excerpts from all 3 sections  of Scorpio: the shroud, the 8th installment in my Zodiac Abstract anthology. And what is in Scorpio: the shroud?  Well, it is more than just a sun sign description book. My aim was to provide information pertaining to every Scorpio placement (sun, moon, venus, mercury, mars, and the ascendant), while still making everything easy to read for both astrology newbies and devotees. Here’s a quick run-through of what you’ll encounter:

The first section I describe the physical characteristics and style preferences of Scorpio. Following that is the GUTS section, where I describe every basic quality of the sign, how Scorps think, speak, and act, and also what hobbies and occupations they are drawn to. Next I’ll explain the meaning of Scorpio’s’ animal and planetary symbols by way of myths in the GLYPH section. Lastly, I expose the bad habits and negative expressions of the water sign’s aforementioned ‘good side’ in the GRIEF section.
